My first "Anime grind" themed game was Anime Fighting Sim. Back then, I never really thought of checking online to figure out anything because the game never required you to explore. It was just "Grind this by AFKing and HOPE no one kills you", yk.
Then I played Blox Fruits. MAN I LOVED IT. The FIRST thing my friend recommended was "use the wiki to learn what to do". That turned out to be my first experience with a wiki. Then I got to the 3rd sea, and the quests became longer, the demand was greater, I was spending a lot of time playing (not that all that was bad, I LOVED every second of it). I was nearing the TOP. NO ONE could tell me how to play (many recommended I grind to max level first.), but I was FINALLY going to make it! All those people JEERING at my "low" level at 2110 would finally LEAVE ME ALONE.
Then they dropped an update. Kitsune was released. It looked sick. But I had to move (not in the way you think I moved), to a place with poor wifi. I couldn't even load YouTube, let alone play Roblox. I was DEVASTATED. And WORST of all, THEY UPPED THE MAX LEVEL. I could cry... Something I reallly didn't like about all that too, was how they got you to STAY PLAYING for so LONG. How is it that I'm 400 levels away from the MAX level, and I'm ALREADY just getting ONE level per quest completion??? I couldn't believe it. My time away discouraged me from playing the game, made me think of why I SHOULDN'T play it.
But then I moved again. I got better WiFi. Then I was recommended King Legacy. The first thing I was told THIS time was "Watch YouTube videos on how to play. They're the best way to learn". I was confused. Thought of a wiki as a staple for games like King Legacy. But I ignored it and came STRAIGHT to the wiki. "Maybe he forgot about the wiki. Maybe the Wiki is even BETER than Blox Fruits' wiki". I was disappointed. So disappointed that I'd start to question playing these kinds of games. But I had hope. This time I followed the advice of my friend and got to max level in about half a day's worth of play time. I was BALLING. I love how imaginary monetary(money) values aren't assigned to items in the game, but a sort of "bartering system" was developed using Sea King's Fins(genius in my opinion). I LOVE how there is still SO MUCH POTENTIAL for the 3rd sea, and it didn't feel so cramped YET. I LOVE almost EVERYTHING that differs Blox Fruits from King Legacy because THAT's what made it special.
HOWEVER, the sole reliance on YouTubers as a source of info (not entirely a bad thing, making vids and getting a bit of caching while you're at it) WASN'T cutting it for me. The BEST videos you could get were either BLASTING (probably copyright) music, or just straight up COPY PASTE recordings of the gameplay. The wiki (in my opinion) provides users with a quick and easy search for the answer, or a detailed, AND quality guide to the game one may miss out on in a video. You can ALWAYS come back and EDIT it. If It's active, it's ACCURATE and UP TO DATE, unlike videos which serve as TIME STAMPS needing a new upload to stay up to date with any changes, minor or major.
That's why I've made it my AGENDA to UPDATE THE WIKI (however best I can, with whatever time I can). That's all. What? did you expect some uplifting outro or smth? Idk man, go touch grass, you've read too long (at least your attention span is good)
